Our next walk will be this coming Thursday, February 22nd. We will be walking The Granite Trail on the lower slopes of the Mournes. We have walked this route once before and walked variations of it twice but I think it is worth doing again as it is a lovely easy walk. The walk starts in Donard Park Newcastle and after the Granite Trail we follow an easy track along the mountain and easy forest tracks back to our cars. After this walk we should all know the difference between a Bogie and a Slipe, knowledge which could help us some day in a Pub Quiz.
The Lord Mayor, Gareth Wilson hosted a reception for members of Armagh U3A in the Palace on Wednesday, 6th December at 1:00 p.m. We are grateful to Liam McArde for his kind permission to publish photos of the event on our website.
The F. E. McWilliams gallery in Banbridge has organised pottery workshops at Mount Ida pottery in which some members of the Armagh U3A have taken part.
The project involved making lots of flax flowers in ceramic which will be installed in the gallery garden for their 10th anniversary. The “Weeping Poppies” from London were the inspiration for this idea.
You will be able to see the results of their work and that of the other participating groups in the gallery gardens at the F. E. McWilliams gallery in Banbridge from 22nd March 2018.
