Visit to Stormont + Out-to-Lunch Bunch – Stormont

We have now arranged a tour of Stormont on the same day for those that want to see a bit more of the building, it will start at 12:00 and take approximately 45 minutes. The time of the lunch has been moved back to 1:15 to accommodate those people who are just having the lunch. If you could let Florence know if you want to take part in the tour and lunch, or just the tour, or just the lunch before Friday 26th October.

Walking Group – Pierce’s Castle

Our next walk will be this coming Thursday, September, 27th. Leaving at usual time. We will start from Leitrim Lodge car park in the Mournes and walk to Pierces Castle and back. The route will be decided accorded to the weather on the day and will last from 3 to 4 hours. Boots necessary and walking poles recommended.

Cycling Group – Scarva Pod

Scarva is booked for Thursday, 20th at 9.15am. Peter will lead a gentle cycle around some of the minor roads around Tandragee-very few hills! We covered new ground last time cycling from Newry to Victoria Lock on the new Greenway-an excellent outing and one we could repeat before the end of the season. See you on the 20th.

Wine Appreciation Group

Autumn is rapidly approaching so it is time to get the Wine group together again. Audrey is continuing to kindly offer her house as a venue. Florence and Eleanor have been doing some serious research over the summer and will tell us about what they have found.

We meet on Wednesday 19th September at 7pm. There will be a limit to numbers to 18 as usual (sorry it is all that can be squeezed out of a 750ml bottle). I will reply to every email I receive confirming their place or otherwise. If you wish to attend please e-mail Peter at wineapp@armaghu3a.org

Walking Group

Welcome back to our walking season. Our first walk will give us a gentle walk to start the season. Carol will lead us around Craigavon lakes. You can wear either trainers or boots and the walk should last about two hours.

As usual, we will assemble in the palace playground car park and leave at nine thirty. We would like some new walk leaders to add a bit of variety to our walks. If you have a favourite walk which will last two hours or more we would be delighted to include it. It can be on country lanes, river or forest tracks or mountains.

Our dates from now to Christmas are September 13, and 27th, October 11th and 25th, November 8th and 22nd and December 6th and 20th.

If you are willing to lead a walk just let me know date and venue and I will slot you into calendar.
