Autumn is rapidly approaching so it is time to get the Wine group together again. Audrey is continuing to kindly offer her house as a venue. Florence and Eleanor have been doing some serious research over the summer and will tell us about what they have found.
We meet on Wednesday 19th September at 7pm. There will be a limit to numbers to 18 as usual (sorry it is all that can be squeezed out of a 750ml bottle). I will reply to every email I receive confirming their place or otherwise. If you wish to attend please e-mail Peter at email@example.com
Time for the February meeting. Eleanor and Florence will bring along a couple of wines and give us a talk about them.
We meet at 7pm on Wednesday, 22nd February in Audrey’s house as usual. Please confirm if you wish to attend.
The U3A Wine Tasting group met at Audrey Kellett’s house on Thursday 24th November.
Tom and Roberta Duncan’s ‘Mystery Talk’ turned out to be a well illustrated talk about the Constantia winery near Capetown in South Africa. The distinctive feature about the tasting was the chocolate pairing devised by the Constantia wine company. Members had the opportunity to taste three different types of chocolate specially produced for the 3 exclusive Constantia wines to be sampled. The taste buds were tantalised by the chocolates which were infused with exotic flavours to complement the wines.
The Wine Appreciation Group had a very successful wine tasting combined with a five course meal in the Moody Boar on 28th May. Here are some photos from the evening. Click on the image to view a larger photo.
